Casa Vicina History

Casa Vicina Restaurant has over 120 years of history in the name of a continuous search for excellence that combines tradition and innovation. The current owners are Stefano Vicina, Claudio Vicina and his wife Anna Mastroianni. For a few years now, Claudio and Anna’s daughters have also joined the team. Laura (Room service and Social media manager) and Silvia (Junior Chef Pâtissier). The Vicinas are supported in the kitchen by Giuseppe Calcagno – Sous Chef and Alessandro Passini – Junior Sous Chef, while in the dining room by Stefano D’Elia – Wine room and service. It all began in 1902, when Pietro Giovanni Battista Vicina Mazzaretto opened his first horse-changing inn in Ivrea. From then on the passion was handed down from father to son. In addition to taking care of the management and implementation of the restaurant, each person added their own personal touch until the “Casa Vicina” project was reached in 1980. Roberto, Pietro’s nephew, and his wife Bruna decided to give a more unique imprint to the business. family, following their instinct and passion. First of all the interpretation of Bagna Cauda proposed by Vicina as “Bagna Caoda da Bere”. In January 2007 the restaurant moved to Eataly Lingotto in Turin. From December 2020 it will move to the 3rd floor of the Green Retail Park “Green Pea” designed by the Farinetti family. A choice that represents a further act of trust and esteem between the Vicinas and Oscar Farinetti which began as early as 2007 with the entry into Eataly Lingotto. This is a new challenge for the Vicina family, restaurateurs for 120 years and for 5 generations.
